Dear OG Members & Friends
Cover Voting January Edition:
Season’s Greetings:
From all of us at Ocean Geographic, we wish you a joyful festive season, a blessed Christmas, and a powerful beginning to the New Year. Thank you for your unwavering support — and for standing with us as we document, defend, and fight for what remains.
What remains, and what is saved, depends entirely on what we choose to do now.
Our responsibility has become crystal clear: to bear witness — and to act. To document what still exists with the rigour of science and the transformative power of art, so the world cannot look away — and so future generations will know what was here, what was lost, and what was fought for.
ANIMA HAI 海魂 — The Remains of Our World Coral Reefs. A legacy initiative of Ocean Geographic
ANIMA HAI 海魂 is Ocean Geographic’s most ambitious global initiative to date — a visionary art–science legacy project led by Michael AW, with principal scientists Dr Sylvia Earle, Dr Carden Wallace AM, and Dr Emma Camp. Together, we are creating a visual and scientific time capsule of Earth’s remaining coral heritage.
From 2027, a small number of carefully selected expeditions will travel to some of the planet’s most significant reef systems. These are not conventional dive trips. They are witness missions — where photographers, filmmakers, scientists, storytellers, and committed ocean advocates work side by side to document coral reefs before they are destroyed beyond recognition.
Be among the first to apply to join these legacy expeditions. Email: office@ogsociety.org
Further details will be featured in our next edition, including a major editorial on the state of global coral reefs and the ANIMA HAI 海魂 initiative.
2026 & Beyond
2026 marks Ocean Geographic’s 19th year — and it will be extraordinary.
We begin with the premiere of the BIG ACE Exhibition in Singapore on 5 February 2026. Please look out for the official invitation.
Meanwhile, most of our 2026 expeditions are nearly full. Only a handful of places remain for our signature journeys – our once-off Wallace Line Crossing Expedition, where the Asian and Australasian realms collide in one of the planet’s most spectacular marine intersections. Grab your spot at Wallace Line 2026. Also, only 5 spots remain for the Wonders of Japan Safari 2026. Email for information or check out at expeditions@OGSociety.org : Expeditions 2026
Season’s Greetings to all.
With deepest gratitude and resolve,
Ocean Geographic Team

Reminder to Expedition Members:
Please ensure your DAN coverage is up-to-date before dive travel. We also recommend reviewing DAN’s Return to Diving Safely guide: If you’ve been out of the water for a while, take time to assess your health, fitness, refresh your diving skills, and check your equipment.
