WINNER - CHRIS SCHENKER
Outstanding Achievement award plus AUD 300 Cash prize sposored by Ocean Geographic

“I think this is a beautiful wide angle scene. Technically such images are not
easy to produce and therefore this shows real mastery of underwater
technique. Many well known underwater photographers can shoot good
macro and big animals, but cannot produce beautiful wide angle scenic
shots like this. The image has great colour and depth, and the school of fish
really enrich it with energy."

RUNNER UP: LIT CHUN LUN LUCA
Merit of Excelllence award plus Elysium Epic Book by Michael AW:

“A scene that is full of life and well photographed with even illumination
throughout the school of jacks. A great blue water colour and a feeling of
depth really create a feeling of being there, underwater with this amazing
school of fish. I feel the image would have been stronger without the
diver."

“A well exposed portrait of a whale shark feeding. I really like the
compositional balance between the whaleshark and its reflection."

“A good capture of a hawksbill turtle feeding on soft corals. Technically, the
exposure is also well controlled. Turtles are very reflective and we tend to
see a lot of overexposed images of them!"
