Ocean Geographic recognises and respects Singapore’s responsibility to plan for its future economic, energy and national-security needs. However, the proposal to merge Pulau Semakau, Pulau Bukom, Pulau Sudong and other surrounding islands through large-scale reclamation raises profound concerns for Singapore’s last remaining thriving marine ecosystems.
